Out of the Darkness

On October 7, 2018, “Team Vianney” (coined by the Saint John Vianney Center’s staff and family members who participate in the 3-mile “Out of the Darkness” walk in Philadelphia) again supported suicide awareness, prevention and education this year by going down to center city Philadelphia to participate in the walk organized by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This is SJVC’s 3rd year in a row that staff and their families joined the “Out of the Darkness” Walk and donation campaign.

The walk on October 7th culminated SJVC’s summer long suicide awareness campaign. Each Friday, at SJVC’s facility, an activity is offered. To participate, a donation is collected and then the total is donated to the AFSP at the walk. SJVC is pleased to announce that we exceeded our goal !

If you would like to contribute to AFSP on behalf of Team Vianney please donate online.

The ‘Out of the Darkness’ walks take place around the country and are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) largest fundraiser, producing suicide prevention programs and creating smarter communities for mental health.
