In a recent article of Psychology Today,  Jennifer Guttman, Psy.D. discusses how self-care can help mitigate the stress of the holiday season. She says “this season can be an exciting time, but it can also be incredibly stressful when we ignore or marginalize our self-care. Issues can arise including a negative attitude, physical exhaustion, resentment, and physical symptoms of burnout.”

In addition, a survey by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 68% of those surveyed felt financially strained, 66% experienced loneliness, and 63% felt an overwhelming sense of pressure this time of year.
