Saint John Vianney Center now provides a Diabetes Education group as part of our Residential Treatment Services. The Diabetes Education Group formed in response to direct resident feedback and clinical/nursing observations regarding the diabetes process and diagnosis. An interdisciplinary team; Nursing, Dietician, and Physical Therapy, uses a four-part course for the resident population. Participation in the group is based on one of three characteristics; a confirmed diabetes diagnosis, laboratory work suspected of prediabetes, and/or a family history of diabetes. It is through our on-site, professional, and certified staff that we are able to provide this additional education to benefit the overall health and wellness of our residents.
