Erik Ranstrom, Ph.D.

Erik Ranstrom

Dr. Erik Ranstrom serves as a member of the Spiritual Care Department for the Saint John Vianney Center meeting with residents to discuss the spiritual aspects of their lives and ministry.

Dr. Ranstrom holds a Ph.D. from Boston College in Theology and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality, Fairfield University.

He has worked as a spiritual advisor in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and as a chaplain in acute health care settings, including psychiatric chaplaincy. He is trained to give the 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises, the Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life.

Dr. Ranstrom supports residents in their journey toward an integral spiritual life of spirit, mind, and body. He encourages cultivating the simplicity of heart that is attentive to the Lord’s self-communication. A special focus of his work is supporting practical theological reflection in the context of residential therapy.
