Our Activities department focuses on the well-being and support of our residents during their off time from formal groups. Education, fun, and self-expression are nurtured in the form of classes, cooking, gardening, music, trips, and resident specific activities.

Karen Cox

Karen Cox serves as the Director of Therapeutic Activities for the Saint John Vianney Center organizing and implementing on site and off site activities that complement the treatment programs and services of the Center. The activities she provides to residents are inspired by our holistic approach and assist in the healing of mind, body, and spirit.

Karen also provides classes which include a variety of fitness/wellness themes. Ms. Cox is a physiologist certified as a STOTT Pilates instructor on all levels, ZUMBA all levels, personal trainer, mind/body trainer, life coach, group and individual exercise prescription, holistic health consultant, sports nutritionist, and Pennsylvania State licensed coach and referee. Karen has studied fitness and wellness education at Central Michigan University, Wayne State University, and West Chester University and has worked in this profession for over 30 years in hospitals, mental health facilities, major corporations, and wellness institutions.
