International Symposium on Psychology and the Spiritual Exercises

Staff of the Saint John Vianney Center participated in the International Symposium on Psychology and the Spiritual Exercises co-organized by SJ-Europe (Jesuits) and Comillas Pontifical University of Madrid held June 21-24, 2019. The Symposium was held at the Sanctuary of Loyola.

Mercedes McCann, RSM, Ph.D., Erik Ranstrom, Ph.D., and Adam Bernstein, LPC, presented a free communication entitled “From Fragmentation to Unity: A Case-Study in Holistic Treatment from the Saint John Vianney Center.” The case-study highlighted Saint John Vianney’s distinctive approach to integrating psychotherapy and spirituality for clergy and religious.

The Symposium hosted approximately 300 people from 25 countries. Presenters and participants included psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, pastoral counselors, spiritual directors, Jesuits, women religious, and lay persons.
