Residential Treatment Program
Program Overview:
The Residential Treatment Program is a therapeutic community for those who find that a significant aspect of their daily life is out of balance. Persons seeking admission are individuals who experience difficulty in one or more arena of personal effectiveness which ia hampering an active role in ministry. The program emphasizes that a communal experience which promotes individual responsibility for health and ultimately recovery, can be effective. Individuals are expected to manage their personal needs in an appropriate manner while agreeing to the norms and parameters of the program.
The concept of a therapeutic community is to afford a "sacred time" to assess the conflicts and struggles experienced in one's life and in living. This is a moment when a community of peers and caring professionals help the person honestly address those conflicts that affect their chosen ministry, their relationships with others and their relationship with God. The power of a healing community of faith and hope is the foundation for reflection, action and change. The community at St. John Vianney Center consists of the residents, staff and referring diocese or religious community.
The goal of the therapeutic community is to extend a unique, time-tested treatment opportunity where problem situations and conflicted life issues can be sensitively and effectively addressed; all within a safe setting. Within this milieu, residents can learn and begin to use alternative responses and behaviors.
