Why the Saint John Vianney Center
We serve clergy and religious professional men and women with behavioral disorders and psychiatric illnesses. Aware of Catholic principles and contemporary psychiatric, psychological and social services, we promote healing, recovery and reconciliation.
How We Heal
Each person is unique with personal and spiritual gifts. Each has dignity, worth, and autonomy; all with rights to self-direction and personal responsibility. We continuously calibrate our goals for each individual to help each one function better than at the time of admission and as well as possible. We meet the patients at the point of need, walk with them to healing, and return them to the community/ministry of choice. With therapy specifically tailored for each individual, we can be compassionately congenial, while respectful always of his/her life call.
Taking a patient's faith, family, community and ministry as a starting point, our interdisciplinary team can blend its wisdom to review that patient's life. That keeps a sense of safety in serene surroundings that frees a patient to explore what they already know and also what is hidden from them. While each healing plan may differ from one another, we recognize the tension between cost and length of stay. Healed and stronger, a SJVC patient leaves ready for re-entry into life, and to appropriate ministry.
